Uganda Tourism Information Blog

Have a question about travelling to Uganda either as a tourist / researcher? Just ask it here on our blog.

Uganda is a prime tourist destination whether you are new or seasoned traveller. Having been described as the “pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill in 1907 during his travels, the allure is still evident. Uganda enjoys an equatorial climate that is characterised by dry and wet seasons with the mean temperatures ranging between 18c to 32c all year round. No wonder, it is an exceptional country for its richness of natural life compared to its size. Uganda boosts of over 10 national parks that offer spectacular scenery, a highlight of the rare blend of forest and savannah wildlife. The high tropical misty forests and savannah grasslands provide habitat to several primates including the endangered mountain gorilla, as well as the widest range of primates in Africa, several mammal and bird species (Over 1000 species of birds have been recorded representing more than half of Africa’s bird species).
It’s only in Uganda that you observe lions roaming the savannah open plains as well sightings of chimps and other primates that inhabit the misty tropical rain forests. And there is more than wildlife that Uganda has to offer for those who like night life, Uganda’s capital city Kampala is the ideal place with lots of 24hr outlets and giant shopping centres that take most cards. For hiking enthusiasts, the snow-capped Rwenzori mountains in western Uganda as well as Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda provide interesting yet gentle challenges, ideal even for first time climbers.

We believe that our blog will become a gateway to one of the world's best kept secrets, the pearl of Africa.
